CHEER AND TUMBLE COMBO CLASSES

Preschool Power

Developmental class that focuses on coordination, strength, and development of preschool athletes in a fun and motivating environment. This class will teach cheerleading and tumble skills with a focus in motor development. This class will meet once per week for 45 minutes. Ages 3 and 4 (preschool age)

Beginner Cheer / Tumble

Cheer and tumbling class combined. Learn cheers, cheer motions, jumps, dances, the basics of cheerleading, and basic, developmental tumble skills on your level. Tumble skills include rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, backbends, and front and back walkovers. Lots of fun and perfect for the beginner cheerleader wanting to have fun while cheering! Ages 5-9

Cheer Prep 101

Recreational cheer and tumble class focusing on improving jump and motion technique through drills, flexibility training, and plyometrics while learning cheers and band beats for recreational purposes and the love of cheer. Athletes will participate in a strength conditioning program to improve their overall athletic impression. Athletes will learn beginner tumble level skills. Ages 9-16

CHEER CLASSES

Flyers Stretch/Body Positions

(ALL LEVELS) In this class, athletes will use both strength, and flexibility to learn how to become a more efficient, and reliable flyer. Athletes will get one-on-one feedback on their body positions, how to correctly perform and "pull" positions as well as instruction on what they can do at home to help accomplish their goals in the gym. Ages 7 and up or special permission

Flyers and Stunt basics

Learn the basics of stunting and all positions including flyer, base, and backspot. Athletes will learn body positions and how to safely perform stunt basics using proper technique. Ages 7 -11

Co-ed Stunt

Intermediate and Advanced Levels. In this class, older athletes who are preparing for advanced teams or college cheer. Ages 12 - Up only please!

SPECIALTY CLASSES

Acro Tumbling

Acro Tumbling is a combination of tumbling, acrobatic tricks and stunting. Acro complements many dance and cheer form. Acro enhances an individual’s tumbling technique, flexibility, and strength, while performing dynamic, flight and balance skills. Acro will benefit students who love dancing, flipping, and trying new things. Prerequisite skills - Level 1 Tumbling or basic skills such as forward/backward rolls, backbend, cartwheel. Ages 8 and up or special permission.

Beginner Silks

A combination of acrobatics, gymnastics, and dance on a suspended apparatus. Silks training helps build strength, coordination, flexibility, and body awareness. Athletes will learn beginner skills such as falling angel. straddle pose, candy came, saltoed egg, and various climbing and descent moves. The goal is to produce competent and confident aerialists that can use their skills multiple areas such as dance, cheer, and tumbling.

Cheerabilities

Cheer team with athletes with disabilities. Any and all disabilities accepted. Parent or guardian must remain in the facility at all times during class. Team will showcase at end of season event at the Lafayette, Cajundome.

TUMBLE CLASSES

Beginner tumbling

level 1. Athletes will learn basic body shapes, bridges, lunges, handstands, forward/backward rolls, cartwheels, and roundoffs while having fun in this action packed class! Different class times offered for younger beginners and older beginners.

Walkovers

level 1/2. Athletes will reinforce what they learned in beginner tumble, but will move on to a deeper understanding of muscle engagement, lever drills, front, and back walkovers, wall taps, and angles coming out of roundoffs. Prerequisite Beginner tumble skills.

Handsprings

level 2. Athletes will reinforce what they have learned in walkover class, demonstrate a perfect wall tap, work front and back handspring technique, and strength and conditioning to be able to perform skills safely.

Tucks, Layouts, and Fulls

levels 3, 4 and 5. Athletes will reinforce what they learned in handspring class, start to work on standing tucks, punch front step outs, hip drive, candlestick drills, layouts, and fulls.. Athletes proficient in layouts will move on to work on twisting drills, core/oblique strengthening, whips, arabians, and going through progressions for fulls/doubles.

Private Tumble Class

levels beginner to handsprings. Optimize your time and accelerate your tumbling with a guaranteed 1-3 student to instructor ratio. Athletes will receive private instruction on a weekly basis to take their tumbling to the next level.
